Pics

I know some of you (Ahem Aunt Bambi) R going thru withdrawal....LOL....JK. So Movers were suppose to be here Friday between 9-11, called at 1030 and they are behind....but finally its here. I have pots, pans, silverware, washer, dryer and kids have toys.....YEAH !!! Do not ever use a company called TMM ( Total Military Movers ) Never....Never.....they will not return calls ( ours or Transportation office) and they lie ( we were told our stuff was on a truck once it left the storage facility in OH but the Driver told Brian it was put in storage in Kansas City which they are not allowed to do unless they tell Transportation ) Now why a truck stops 30 mins from here and they put our stuff off truck into a bldg instead of just bringing it here makes no sense. So please if you are military tell any and everyone you know to not use this company, sadly we were not the only ones they were having problems with. I know if someone had told me I would have been so grateful because this was horrible .....now we hope our damaged/broken stuff gets fixed/paid for.

These are pics of Sage getting her Plate made at Nichols Pottery in North Carolina ( Southern Pines and Eagle Springs ) Kael and Maddie got their plates done about 3 or 4 months old....poor Sage had to wait until 10 months but Thankfully They got her feet and hands to fit on the plate....LOL.

Thirteen Thursday

I am Joining Thirteen Thursday this week with a list of items I have learned during this move to Kansas...

1) It is not a good idea to let your Military ID expire before a PCS ( Permanent Change of Station) Move.....esp when moving to a little tiny post that is not real busy at the current time.

2) If the driver who is moving your household goods says it will not all fit on the truck, make them take the stuff you "need " in that first truck even if they have to take stuff off and re load, they will get over it. ( 2 weeks for the second truck to get here....yeah right )

3) Chicken Pox has a 2 week incubation period

4) You can still get a mild form even if you have been vaccinated or have had the Pox

5) It is better to cut a finger in the joint on the underside of said finger esp if you are a very smart 11 month old who will not keep a bandage on that finger.

6) They make a mustard here in the midwest that is Chili flavored.....how smart is that????

7) Neighbors are one of lifes greatest joys.....we were blessed to have good neighbors we had to leave and now we are meeting some pretty great new ones.

8) Laundry mats are expensive.......we have paid $1.75 to $2.25 a load....I do not know how people do it on a regular basis....talk about price gouging.

9) Thunderstorms in Kansas are no joke.....

10) Dillion's makes better fried chicken then Price Chopper or so I'm told.

11) Leavenworth is home to 6 prisons......6 ??????????????

12) This time of year stores put toys on clearance to make room for the Hottest Toys this Christmas......did somebody forget to tell me about this the past 5 years??? Esp with a August B-day coming up.....I will be hitting K-Mart later today ( extra 50% off all clearance toys this week).

13) It is hard to come up with Thirteen random things....whew .....but thanks for sticking around.

Now please go visit Happy to be at home for more Thirteen Thursday.

Just a Update...Sorry

We got our internet connection yesterday but Brian had to leave this AM for a funeral up in Chicago so still no pics. Supposedly our stuff will be here Friday, this is a new system ( that sucks) the military is going to so they can eliminate the jobs of people in Transportation ( nice Huh?) and have the soldier/family be responsible for the entire PCS and make sure everything gets from point A to point B safely ......because the Soldier/family does not have enough to do already....can you tell I am just a little BITTER???? Supposedly with this system you will be able to pick your Moving Company so after we get our stuff I will happily make sure this particular companies name gets alot of attention from anybody in the military so they do not make this mistake.....UGH !!! We did get stuff put on the walls and moved around yesterday but as for today and tomorrow nothing will get done with me having 3 kiddo's under foot. We did get to library and got Kael a new card, but of course they all 3 acted like crazies so that was a short trip. Everybody is healthy, both Kael and Maddie seem to be having growing pains...I guess its that time of year. Just say a little prayer our stuff gets here safe and sound Friday.

The sick house

I'm still here....sick but here. Sage never got any red bumps, but her fever was so high the night of my last post my thermo scan said "too high" talk about scary???? Well whatever she had I got.....maybe flu??? Have had sore throat, chills, fever, body aches....etc. Still no pics.....I gotta find a place to put my laptop to connect to my hard drive and have still not found that. Dear hubby found us a shorter way to Kansas City today which is better shopping so...Whoo Hoo !!! We went to a huge Furniture store called Nebraska Furnitutre ....we had to get a stand for our new TV which could arrive anyday now. Yesterday our neighbor Jennifer brought us brownies, yum-o, she was very helpfull and sweet even though she had a house full of visiting family from OK. She said I should get Kael on the waiting list for post schools( they are said to be better ) its a long shot but always worth a try. Also said our other neighbor has a 4 year old boy who is going to Maddie's pre school and their mom is always looking for playdates. So I am off to a hot bath....chills again.
